Works with Callie

The screens, cameras, calendars, and photo albums Callie works with. Search for yours, or browse below.

Screens

Where the board lives. Every screen links with the same 6-digit code.

Cameras

Live feeds on the TV, on their own tab or beside the week.

Calendars

Keep the calendars you already use. Callie reads their private feed links.

Photos

The photo frame between glances at the week.

Setting up a screen

Every screen links to your family the same way: it shows a 6-digit code, and you approve it at my.callie.so under Household → Link a device. Link as many as you like.

Apple TV, iPad, and iPhone

During the beta, get Callie through TestFlight: the iPhone & iPad link and the Apple TV link (open them on your iPhone). Open Callie: the Apple TV shows a code straight away, and on an iPad or iPhone you tap Link this device. Linking, step by step.

Widgets (coming soon). Home Screen widgets are in testing and will reach the beta in an upcoming update: Up next for the next event or two, and Today for the day's list. Up next will also fit on the Lock Screen, and either can show just one person.

Web board

Turn any screen with a browser into a family board: an old iPad, an Android tablet, a laptop by the door, or a smart display.

  1. On that screen, open my.callie.so/board. It shows a code.
  2. Approve the code at my.callie.so, under Household → Link a device.
  3. Make it full screen and leave it open. It keeps the screen awake where the browser allows, refreshes every minute, and keeps showing the last board if the Wi-Fi drops.

The web board only shows. Nobody can change your family's settings from it, so it's safe to leave in a shared space.

TRMNL

TRMNL is an e-ink display that lasts months on a charge. Callie acts as its server, so it doesn't need a TRMNL account or plugin.

  1. Start the TRMNL's Wi-Fi setup. A new TRMNL starts it the first time it's switched on; on one you've already set up, TRMNL's own guide shows how to start it again. Join the TRMNL network from your phone.
  2. Choose your Wi-Fi, open Advanced, and set Custom Server to https://my.callie.so.
  3. After it restarts, the screen shows a code. Approve it at my.callie.so.

It shows the next three days by default; switch it to a single day under Household → Devices. It refreshes every 15 minutes from 6 am to 10 pm and sleeps overnight to save battery.

Home Assistant

Soon you'll be able to bring Callie into Home Assistant for dashboards and automations: flash the porch light when it's trash day, or announce the next event at breakfast. It will give you:

  • A family calendar, and one calendar per person
  • A next-event sensor for the family and for each person
  • A count of today's reminders
  • Your Callie lists as to-do lists. Add and tick items from either side.

Coming soon. The Home Assistant integration is still being tested and isn't available to install yet. We'll add the setup steps here when it is.

Removing a device

Open Household → Devices and remove it. Within a few minutes it stops getting updates and asks to be linked again.
